Allowing your body to talk

Allowing your body to talk

Helping you through the difficult times.

Hi, my name is Kate and I’m a relational based, trauma & attachment informed Psychotherapist.

People access therapy for many different reasons.  Maybe something has recently happened and feels overwhelming.  Maybe something happened along time ago but keeps coming into your mind or maybe you just don’t know why life feels so tough.

Therapy provides a chance to confront our fears and discomforting emotions.  We may believe we are stronger and safer alone during difficult times, but often this aloneness adds to the difficulties.  We are individuals with different life experiences, yet together we can find a way to connect with the authentic and tender parts of ourselves.  It allows us access to those hidden qualities that help create a sense of balance and harmony in our lives.

I believe in the wholeness of people and the importance of human connection. It’s the quality of our relationships that shape our lives.  My approach is attentive, warm and safe.  During our sessions, I will listen and provide a secure space for you to be heard, as well as help you connect with and manage your emotions. I will invite you to explore deeper and learn to understand any patterns or defences that may be contributing to your present situation. I look beyond with compassion and care.  I’m passionate about supporting individuals, couples and families to reconnect, communicate, grow and thrive.

I’m trained in transpersonal psychology for individuals, families and groups.  I believe that it’s through the recognition of our life experiences that we  move forward with our lives.  As an integrated therapist, I can adapt and attune to the clients’ needs, using a combination of perspectives, including Transpersonal, Experiential, Couples therapy (EFT), AEDP, Bowens Family Systems and Somatic techniques.  We will work together, striving to reconnect with yourself and those around you.

We are learning more and more about the effect that stress has on our bodies and wellbeing. How repressed emotions have an effect on our nervous system, causing a stress response to our bodies.

Intuitively we understand that our minds and bodies are not separate, yet we work hard at maintaining our bodies and little time on our minds. In today’s society we are well aware that how we feel in our head can have a huge impact to how we feel in our body and vice versa. It’s becoming clear that the integration of the human mind and body is beneficial for a healthier life.
